In-Home Energy Evaluation Program

Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative knows how important saving money is to you, our members. That’s why we are spreading the word about a valuable new program that can save energy and energy dollars. It is the In-Home Energy Evaluation Program (IHEE).

Here’s how it works:

·         Call MLEC Energy Specialist Gene Hale at 931-729-3558 to arrange for an in-home energy audit by a certified evaluator. (The $150 fee is refundable when that amount is spent on in-home improvements.)

·         The evaluator reviews your home and creates a report outlining the potential energy efficiency modifications and available cash incentives.

·         A Tennessee Valley Authority Quality Contractor Network list will be provided for use in getting modifications implemented.  (Except for self-installed insulation, improvements must be conducted by a TVA-approved contractor on the list.)

·         All home improvements must be completed within 90 days. Once work is finished, it will be inspected to ensure that everything is installed properly to maximize savings.

·         After inspection, you submit receipts for the completed work to be eligible for cash incentives (up to $500).

Questions?

If you would like to take advantage of this special new program, contact MLEC today. It can help you reduce your power use, better control utility bills and receive a rebate incentive for the improvements made.

*Cash incentive option — $500 is the total maximum reimbursable amount for all approved work completed. Some modifications have lower maximum amounts, and some require distributor preapproval.
