History:
Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative (MLEC) serves electricity to more than 35,000 homes, schools, and businesses in the middle Tennessee counties of Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Lewis and Perry. Formed in 1939, MLEC has a rich history of commitment and progress to this area.
Yet at MLEC we're not just talking electricity, MLEC also provides services such as Internet access, cash rebate programs, electric grills and smokers, and books. We also maintain an active and visible role in our schools and in economic development. A cooperative means working together. That is something MLEC members, employees, communities and board members have been doing well since 1939 and that will never change.
MLEC is a Touchstone Energy® cooperative and embraces the four values that are the foundation of every Touchstone Energy co-op when providing service to its members:
Innovation - offering customers new solutions with the latest technology
Accountability - setting high standards of customer service
Integrity - delivering on what we promise
Commitment to Community - doing things to make life better now and into the future for the communities and people we serve.
On our website you can learn more about our cooperative and the services that can benefit you, visit our online store, pay your bill online, and check out the latest issue of The Tennessee Magazine.
