4-H Electric Camp

In conjunction with the University of Tennessee Extension Service and local 4-H clubs, Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative participates in 4-H Electric Camp. 6th or 7th grade 4-H club members throughout the state may attend this camp for a fee. It is a camp held at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. While there, students participate in workshops, i.e., building an electric meter lamp, using solar energy, GPS (global positioning system) and electric vehicles. These workshops are taught by personnel from the electric industry in Tennessee. The MLEC service area is represented by 4-H students from Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Lewis, and Perry counties.
