MLEC Planned Power Outages for Hickman County – Wed., March 22, Thurs., March 23, & Fri., March 24
Part of Hickman County will be without power over a three day period on starting on Wednesday, March 22 at 9 p.m. and will finish on Friday, March 24 at 6:15 a.m.
This planned outage will not be constant over the three days. Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative will use this time to change voltage on transformers to improve service reliability. Extra crews from other MLEC locations are being brought in to help keep outage time to a minimum.
Wednesday, March 22 planned outage will be from 9 p.m. until 9:15 p.m.
The areas affected: Defeated Creek Road, Coates Cemetery Road, County Farm Road, Puckett Hollow Road, Old Puckett Hollow Road, Kristen Drive, Hwy 48 North, Nunnelly, Pinewood, Garners Creek, Beaver Creek, Hidden Valley, Hwy 230 West, Possum Hollow Road, Piney Road, Pretty Creek, Forrester Road, and Sugar Creek – will be out approximately 15 minutes or so to do some switching then power will be restored. By switching the feed, this allows MLEC to keep the power on longer for most customers.
Thursday, March 23 planned outage will be from 9 a.m. until 12 noon.
The areas affected: Defeated Creek Road, Coates Cemetery Road, County Farm Road, Puckett Hollow Road, Old Puckett Hollow Road, and Kristen Drive – will be off for approximately three hours.
Friday, March 24 planned outage will be from 6 a.m. until 6:15 a.m.
The areas affected: The same areas mentioned above will experience a brief outage while the crews switch everything back to normal. This should last approximately 15 minutes or so.
“We want everyone to know about the work in these areas so they can be prepared,” says MLEC District Manager Dwight Bates. “While no one, including MLEC, wants to be without power, outages are sometimes required for the safety of those working. We appreciate our members’ understanding and cooperation during these times.”
MLEC encourages those with questions to call 931-729-3558.
