Economic Development
At MLEC it is our goal to stay aware of our community
needs and look for ways we can help. We know economic development
and community growth depend upon the support and cooperation of
people like us. And we are a utility that does more than simply
provide electricity - we empower our community. MLEC provides annual
funding to economic development agencies in Hickman, Humphreys and
Lewis counties. We have provided zero-interest loan monies to new
or expanding businesses that are creating new jobs. We provide revolving
loan monies for projects in communities that might not otherwise
have funding through a grant from the Rural Development. For more
information e-mail us at power@mlec.com.
