In-Home Energy Evaluation Program
Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative knows how important saving money is to you, our members. That is why we are spreading the word about a valuable new program that can save energy and energy dollars. It is the In-Home Energy Evaluation Program (IHEE).
Here's how it works:
- Call MLEC Energy Specialist Gene Hale at 931-729-3558 to arrange for an in-home energy audit by a certified evaluator. (The $150 fee is refundable when that amount is spent on in-home improvements.)
- The evaluator reviews your home and creates a report outlining the potential energy efficiency modifications and available cash incentives.
- A Tennessee Valley Authority Quality Contractor Network list will be provided for use in getting modifications implemented. (Except for self-installed insulation, improvements must be conducted by a TVA-approved contractor on the list.)
- All home improvements must be completed within 90 days. Once work is finished, it will be inspected to ensure that everything is installed properly to maximize savings.
- After inspection, you submit receipts for the completed work to be eligible for cash incentives (up to $500).
