FCA dips slightly
August 01, 2012
For the first time since March, the Tennessee Valley Authority Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA) is set to decrease.
The pass through of the TVA charge decreases energy bills 2 percent ($2.63) for the average residential member using 1200 kilowatt-hours of electricity in the Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative area.
The TVA FCA is subject to change monthly and is listed as a separate line item on MLEC statements. These charges will go up or down each month depending on TVA prices and the amount of energy used by the individual account. None of the charges collected for the TVA FCA is kept at MLEC. The cooperative’s last increase was in October 2010.
