It does not offer protection for pumps or buildings located outside, but wired through the electric panel

Second Stage •••
Purchaser does installation by plugging into standard electrical outlet and connecting equipment such as televisions, cable and satellite lines, DVD players, stereo systems, computers, modems and other sensitive electronics. Remember, it can only help protect what is directly plugged into it.
It features a receptacle for eight power cords, two phone lines and two cable lines.
Works with the meter base to help protect against surges originating outside the home on the electrical system, telephone lines or satellite and cable TV. Also helps provide a level protection from surges originating from within the home.
