Squeezed for time? MLEC's Handi-Pay can put time back into your day!

BANKDRAFT (Handi-Pay) is one of the easiest and most convenient ways to pay your monthly electric bill. Each month your electric bill is transferred automatically from your checking account on the date it's due. You'll continue to receive an electric statement so you can review the charges and know how much will be deducted.

Sign up by using the "Handi-Pay" form on the back of your electric bill, or e-mail power@mlec.net to request one by mail.

It means one less thing on your "to do" list by having one less check to write and bill to mail or drop off. Your busy schedule will thank you! While you're at it, give yourself a bonus.

Sign up for online billing. You'll get a copy of your statement each month via e-mail. Plus, MLEC's online billing system stores an electronic copy of your bill for 12 months - one less piece of paper to file!

MAIL: MLEC sends self-addressed envelopes each month with your statement. When mailing a payment, enclose the bill stub to ensure the proper account is credited. Also, for your protection, mail only a check or money order. DO NOT MAIL CASH!

NIGHT DROP: MLEC offices have night drop boxes for making payments after hours. Please be sure to use only a check or money order and include your bill stub in the envelope for proper crediting. DO NOT USE CASH!

IN PERSON: To ensure that we are delivering on the promise of excellent service to our customers, MLEC has a fully staffed office in each of the counties we serve. Therefore, if you prefer to come by the office and make your payment in person, we welcome you! The office hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

SPECIAL BILLING DATE: This program is for members who are at least 55 and live on a fixed income. Participants read their own electric meter on the 20th of each month and mail the reading to the office on a card provided by MLEC. This makes their due date coincide with the receipt of their monthly check.
