2008 MLEC Poster Contest

In creating your poster, illustrate ways to conserve energy in your home, at school or in your community.

Where Can You Find Information?: The Tennessee Magazine your parents receive at home is a great place to start. MLEC’s website or local office is also a good resource.

Rules (Posters must meet this criteria to be judged.):
• Poster Size – One-half of a 22” x 28” poster board. Any color is fine.  Please note size requirement.

• If materials are applied to the poster, they should not make it more than 2 inches thick. Do not roll or fold. Poster should lay FLAT.

• Only one entry per student. 

• The theme (conserving energy) must be illustrated on the poster.

• MLEC must be identified on the poster.

• A completed identification tag must be taped or glued securely to the back of your poster in the top, right-side corner.  Information can be printed directly on the poster if a tag is not available, but it must be complete. If the information is missing or incomplete, the poster will not be judged. (NO EXCEPTIONS.)

• Poster must be turned in at the school office or your local MLEC office before 9:00 a.m. on September 16.

Prizes!!!
Winning posters will be displayed and awards given at the MLEC district meetings in October.  Winners in each division in each county will receive:

1st Prize:   Certificate, $25 and a bicycle           
2nd Prize:  Certificate and $25              
3rd Prize:   Certificate and $20
Seven Honorable Mentions:   Certificate and $5 
                         
Additionally, an MLEC system-wide winner will be chosen. The one student from MLEC’s service area who receives the highest score will win a $100 gift card.

REMEMBER: FOLLOW THE RULES. THE IDENTIFICATION TAG MENTIONED IS BELOW. IT MUST BE COMPLETE AND TAPED OR GLUED TO THE BACK OF YOUR POSTER IN THE TOP, RIGHT-SIDE CORNER, OR YOUR POSTER WILL NOT BE JUDGED.
